Have any of you used books for divination, such as the Bible or just a book off the shelf? My husband used Bibliomancy last night--asking about his Grandma--and received an amazing message. I included his story in an article, actually. Do you have any neat stories about using this method to obtain insight? It would be interesting for some of us to pose a question, and whomever wanted to participate, pull a book off a shelf and get a divinatory message for the poster. Anyone game?

I've just posted two articles about this topic:

Bibliomancy - Divination With Sacred Books

Rhapsodomancy - Bibliomancy Using Literature

Awe, Janet, that's a great story about your husband. I hope it gave him comfort and relieved his distress.

I have not really tried Bibliomancy or Rhapsodomancy in any strict sense, but I've opened books up to just whatever page it fell open to and read them, to see if anything might "ring". I think the problem has been that there has been no clear method decided upon in my rather scattered brain beforehand as to how to determine what I would do to "gain insight", be it using a finger to point or to seek and then stop at some certain place. I just generally started reading on the first whole paragraph and then read the page to the last whole paragraph, which didn't really give me much to ponder on, as it was "too much" to ponder really, if that makes sense.

However, I had a message given to me once, through meditation and connection with Hecate, to "look up page number '89'". I can't really remember the exact page number now, but I just filled that in with "any number" to show what I meant. I do have it written down somewhere... I'm not sure now if I'll ever remember when it actually happens, because I don't know what book I am supposed to be looking in, it could be anywhere from now until the day I die when the revelations from that specific page will be seen by my eyes, lol...

But I have plenty of books to practice with, lol, and I might attempt to do it with the methods you've described in your article, Janet, and see if I get better results... I'll definitely post here if I get anything noteworthy.
