yes, I know what you mean. My hubby and i separated going on two weeks ago, we've been together 20 years. it was nearly a week before i could pick up a hook again, but i forced myself to, and i worked like a mad scientist this weekend and finished one poncho. it is thereaputic, it calms me, and i can think clearer when i'm crocheting. and at this time in my life, its one of the only things that seem "normal" to me now, in that it's always been there, and i can go to it anytime. that probably doesnt make sense, but i'm really glad that i forced myself to sit down and pick up the hook after so many days hiatus. after only a few hours, i was "feeling" again.

I'm sure someone will be along directly to give advice on the lace with knit but I thought I'd put my two cents in on agreeing how calming and rewarding crocheting it for me as well. I'm always so thrilled with anything I crochet and it really saves me money. I can redecorate my kitchen and crochet new placemats and other accessories, ect. I love being able to look at a room and have a lot of things in it that I've crocheted. When I'm anxious or real tired, I can crochet and feel better again.
