The problem is that this little 'something to be done' would require changing American law. 30 out of each 100 Polish citizens visitng States on the tourist-visa basis, extend their visit/work illegaly. As a result the Amercian Embassy turns down about 30% of visa applications. The visa's are not required when 3% of applications are turned down. In Poland the problem actually concerns some 60,000-70,000 people among 40,000,000 per annum. It is not THAT huge a problem. Nonetheless it would be nice to travel to your beatiful country just like we travel throughthout Europe. The real problem that 'we' feel is absolutely strange is that the visa application fee is not returned once the application in turned down. There are jokes about how Poland really helps US in the fight against terrorism, communism, totalitarian rules and so on - she just finances American consulates worldwide.
