Can't you go into building mode and just add in pet food bowls at the vacation site? That's what I did. In fact, for every place you can visit, I tore down and redid the entire place.
You can't take it with you, the holiday destination should supply beds and dishes, probably bad ones so you can just edit the resort and add better ones like chocobo said.
