[color:"purple"]there are lots of factors involved with what shampoo/conditioner are the best. like others said, your hair is uniquely yours so what works best for you may not be the same as what works for me.

the general condition of your hair also plays a part - is it healthy? treated with color or perm (iow, damaged & dry) , is it fine, curly?

another important thing is what kind of water do you have? hard, soft, in between? the condition of the water really affects how the shampoo works. hard water will lessen the foaming of the shampoo and soft water can increase it.

try different products (get trial/travel sizes) to see what works for you. personally, i've got fine hair with an oily scalp and my water is very hard (lots of chlorine as well as ammonia). i use pantene smooth (green logo) shampoo and conditioner.

i don't see a need to spend a fortune on hair products from a salon when over-the-counter products are just as good (if not better...).

i used to use loreal pro-v when i lived in another area that had softer water. [/color]

I like Aveda products and have been using them for years. I have long, fine, curly hair, and these products decrease the amount of tangles etc. They can be a little pricey, but they're made of natural ingredients, and that's important to me.
