I have a question, I may be overreacting but I'm 8 months preganat and I wanted to know is there such a thing as a baby moving too much. I mean she is constantly moving and sometimes she has these moments where she starts moving really fast and rolling all around. And it's like out of a whole day she probably stops moving for 30 mins. This from 5am till even after I'm sleep. I just wondering is this normal. This is my first baby.

I think this is normal. Both of my kids were really active. At least you can sleep through it. I don't think you are overreacting. It is a new experience and it can be scary when you don't know for sure. Both of my kids didn't want the nurse to listen to their hearts, so they would "run" from her. The sonograms were wild too. Movement is a good thing.

This is quite normal. Sometimes babies can respond to a certain food and get really active and don't worry, this doesn't just have to be foods coated or made with sugar! I remember with my first and last pregnancy, that the baby would move like crazy if I ate Bakewell Tart and think how it felt in the final months carrying twins! Four arms, four legs going mad like I'd got some mutant octopus performing synchronised swimming!

Hi Nicole,

My baby is due tomorrow and he's been kicking the you-know-what out of me for weeks now. When my obstetrician told me to start a kick count to make sure he moved at least 10 times in an hour during his "active period", I was thinking to myself, are there 10 minutes in an hour that he's NOT kicking?

But I asked the obstetrician about this, and she said, "there's no such thing as a baby being too active".

So I guess you've just got a hyperactive little girl, but nothing to worry about!
