Anyone who has asked me in the past already knows I'm a ridiculously fussy about the links I include on the Jewelry Making site. As the site gets larger (and higher Google and Alexa rankings) I get more and more (and more and MORE) requests for link sharing. This is starting to slow down my response time on the "real" emails!

I am happy to post links to other informational, tutorial type sites, and I will post links to jewelry making supply sites if I have any direct experience with their product.

If I have used or seen the product and know it to be good quality, I am happy to post a link to it. But if I have no experience with the product...recommending it quite defeats the purpose. I always want my readers to know I read every book I review front to back and I use every product I recommend!

If it doesn't have anything to do with jewelry making or the business of jewelry making, I don't post it, no matter how lovely it is. I don't imagine that the tens of thousands of people who read this site every month are looking for links to famous quotations or trucker hats. I don't have a problem with these sites (well, maybe the trucker hats) but they don't belong in Jewelry Making.

I don't allow advertising on the forums without prior approval. I suspect you will find this to be true of almost every other message board on the planet, but since I have to dead-head the spam posts posted on this board on a weekly basis, the message bears repeating.

The internet bombards us with spam from the moment we log on...I like to keep our message boards a safe haven. While a link to your website in your signature line is perfectly fine, a big long post on why we should all buy your fruit quartz isn't.

That being said, if you have a special circumstance, such as a special fundraising sale with proceeds going to breast cancer awareness, let me know. I'm a softie...you can convince me if the motive is good.

Now that being said, there are plenty of people who read these boards that have their own website and might be interested in link sharing with you...even if you sell those blasted trucker hats. If you are interested in link exchanging with other bella members on their personal websites, please post (in this thread only) a link to your website, a brief description about the type of site it is, and your contact email. That way, anyone with a site can check out your work and contact you directly about a link exchange. And all the information is in one place. Which appeals to my inner Mary Poppins. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

It should be assumed, but I will say it anyway just to be safe...no porn sites, please. This is an all-ages message board and it has gotta stay that way!

Alrighty then! Let the link sharing begin!

Hi there! I would love to trade links with other handcrafted jewelry makers, especially wire workers. My site is Avalon Jewelry, www.avalonjewels.com, and description is: Handcrafted decorative chain made from sterling silver wire, embellished with semi-precious gemstones and unique beads.

I prefer text links, but do have a banner on my links page that you are welcome to use.

I wholeheartedly believe in reciprocal linking (it benefits us both!), so please let me know if you would like to trade links. You can email me at admin@avalonjewels.com. Thanks!

Faith,

My partner and I are really trying to create a service that allows crafters, hobbyists and artists a way to compete online with the larger services like EBAY. Obviously we need a small profit - but if you look at what we are offering, it is very very low cost and we work directly with each "shop owner". We hope we can help each other, as we can also provide banner ads on our site..

pls look us over www.peopleswarehouse.com

if you would like to discuss I can provide you my number.
