Happy Australia Day, everybody!

Today is a public holiday in Australia - it's Australia Day. In my home town of Brisbane, there's a day of partying; starting with a free BBQ brekky at SouthBank parklands, moving to a Citizenship Ceremony in City Hall, then a party in the Roma Street Parklands, and culminating in a Street Parade back to SouthBank and fireworks there tonight.

Of course, the weather this week has been wet, wet, wet and looks to continue today, so it could all be very soggy.

On the other hand - rain is better than no rain.

Radio 4KQ in Brisbane is celebrating the day by playing all aussie songs (listening to "What will we be singing in the 80's" from Brisbane group "The Monitors" now).

If you're an Aussie - how do you celebrate Australia day?

If you're not - how do you celebrate your National Day, and when is it?
