We always drink beer with our Indian food.

Is there a certain kind of wine that goes best with it?

Yes! Beer is the all time favourite but their are many wines which goes well with indian food like Riesling, Semillon-Chardonnay, white zin. Red wine lovers can go for Shiraz, Beaujolais, Bardolino. My favourite has to be Gewuerztraminer. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks, vsh! We do love being able to order beers from India at restaurants, but I don't know how to buy them otherwise. The beer selection at the regular grocery stores is pretty poor.

I love drinking red wine with Indian food-- I feel it really brings out the aromatic flavors of the delicious food!

Lassi is by far the best drink to go with authentic Indian dishes... a mix of plain yoghurt, skimmed milk, ice and a sprinkling of salt and choppped mint, with lemon juice, or even some honey and mint for a sweetened version ...mmmmmm!!

I like to drink Chardonnay with Tandoori or Curry dishes. They seem to pair well.

For a while Banks' made a beer called UCB (Ultimate Curry Beer) which is now discontinued, and apparently CAMRA recently tried to find the true Ultimate Curry Beer - I think the Indian beers probably do it best though! Have a look at the link below - someone tried to brew a curry-flavoured beer - now I like curry and beer, but I am suspicious of both together!
