Hi Deborah,
I don't live in Hawaii but would love to visit for a very long time. I have a friend who lives there and have forwarded your request to her.
Good luck with the site

Hi Deborah -
Some colleagues of mine have opened up a surf school. Its called Hawaiin Fire Surf School. It is run by firefighters and for a very reasonable price they take you to to a private beach and supply the boards and everything. The website is http://www.hawaiinfire.com
I hope I spelled that right. Anyhow, they offer a 15% discount to firefighters.

Hello Moe, Glad you stopped in and thanks for spreading the word. I lived there for some years. Hopefully I will be able to return someday as I really miss it. Hopefully you will be able to go there as it is really worth the trip! Absolutely beautiful. I hope that this site will starting to come together soon.

Hello Shannon,
Thank you for that information. I will visit that site again and if I can get some more information I will post an article about it soon. Do you know if they run flash on the first page? I can't seem to get it to load and for some reason my computer just will not download the flash player. I've got to get a new one someday famous last words huh? Anyway.. I appreciate you coming in and telling me about this very much. Take care.

Hi Deb

Both of my daughters live and grew up in Hawaii on the Big Island in Mountain View and Hilo. Are you currently living in Hawaii?

You should do some articles on University of Hawaii in Hilo and on the schools there in Hawaii and the difference between Hawaiian schools for locals and the ones for the military there...big differences in monetary support from our government.

Also, on gangs and crimes in hawaiian neighborhoods...there is rampant drug use and Hawaiian people don't make much money for the cost of living there..what can we do to irradicate this problem?

You could discuss what "pidgeon" is and how someone who lives on the mainland might not understand someone who lives on the islands...

Just some ideas....

My daughter lived there for a little over a year. She and her boyfriend worked there and loved it. But it was very expensive to live - even in a small apartment. For Christmas presents they wanted things like - food.

my in-laws are from ohau and we go back every couple of years to see the cousins. I feel like hawaii is my second home since I don't feel like a tourist anymore, if you know what I mean.
