It is rainy and hot and humid here in Austin, TX today. I am completely on fire. I want to scream from the pain.

Does the humidity make life harder for you? It seems to for me.

Is there a correlation or am I the only one?

I've read in several different places that the weather can greatly affect your fibro and the flare ups. I flare up in heat and humidity. I used to get really bad whenever it was over 75 but now that I live in a warmer area and I'm used to it, I only flare up if it's like over 120 or something. There's lots of info on the web. How long have you had it? I really recommend the book :The Fibromyalgia Survivor" It's by a male doctor, and his photo is on the cover, I forgot who though. Anyway, he has all this info on how he's managed to get his fibro down to where he's living a fairly normal life by stretching and nutrition, etc. I am so much better now and haven't had many problems that I can't live with after I read it. Good luck and feel free to email me if you want to talk about it. I've had it since I was 6 or 8 and I'm almost 21 now.

I find when it gets very hot or cold I hurt bad. I have had FMS for at least 20 years, but still dont have a confirmed diagnosis of FMS, but I am hoping on the 17 February I will finally get the test done and also they will conirm that I have Sjogrens Snydrome.

I live in Oklahoma and am absolutely miserable in our hot, humid summers. I used to love working in the yard for hours. I had to give that up bout 5 years ago, because when I came back inside I would be sick and useless for the rest of the day. I really miss it.

And then there is the matter of the profuse sweating. If the sun touches me at all, I start pouring. Sometimes I don't even feel "hot." It's one of the most annoying things about my particular brand of fibro. It comes out of my scalp and creates gushing rivers all the way down. I feel dirty and sloppy and ugly all summer long <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I believe and am affected by the weather 100%!
It is going to snow here today and I am hurting bad. The heat is the very worse for me! MY new FM
DR. agrees 100% also, that the weather plays a part in pain and how bad you feel. Beast wishes to all!

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, INFINITE. Living in Indiana the summers can reach temperatures in the high 90's but once those temps reach at least the high 70's or low 80's you can bet we have the same % of humidity. Most of the summer is my hibernation time - in the house and IN THE A.C.
Rather surprised you have just noticed the humidity/pain from FMS -- Ive been receiving the FMS Network's Newsletter for at least 5 yrs. and this has been written about at least 5-8 times BECAUSE - YES - they coexist.

Yes, the humidty absolutely makes me feel worse. It seems that any weather change will worsen pain and sx. I get what I call "storm pain" and it doesn't matter if it is going to be a snow storm or a rain storm.
Hugs,
Nancy
