I've asked repeatedly, but no one has bothered to answer me. Why do Christian Republicans feel so much hatred towards other people? Hatred towards gay/lesbian/bi/trans people. Hatred towards anyone different, basically. Hatred towards those less fortunate. Hatred towards environmentalists. Hatred towards other countries. Hatred towards immigrants (we're ALL immigrants except the Native Americans). Hatred towards outigrants (anyone who'd have the nerve to leave). Hatred spewing everywhichway...

So, Christian Republicans... my question to you is...

What Would Jesus Do? Was his message of HATRED and oppression? Or love and forgiveness? Is it really your job to decide right and wrong? Or should you just do what Jesus would do... and *love*?

Best,
Liberty

PS: I am not, for the record, a Christian. I just find this level of hypocrisy remarkably disgusting

Christians do NOT hate gays. Jesus died on the cross just as much for gays as he did for me. Jesus loves gays just like he loves everyone else. Real Christians do the same. We are told to love the sinner but hate the sin. We do NOT hate gays we hate some of their behavior. It is the gays themselves who cannot separate themselves from their sin. This is why God says you are in bondage to your sin. If you hate those who hate what you DO and not who you are then you are in bondage to that behavior.

And yes,God says we are obligated to tell the truth of what is right and wrong. You have not been harmed by Christians. When was the last time someone dragged you into a church?

So a question no one has ever answered me is...out of all of the sins in the Bible, why is homosexuality suddenly the worst in everyone's eyes?

I run around in pants, bareheaded, "submitting" to no one and don't plan to have kids. I used to eat plenty of pork and shellfish back when I ate meat. I am regularly guilty of not loving my neighbor and of having a hot temper that often results in profanity. The list goes on and on. Why has no one told ME I'm going to hell yet?

Katja,

You raised some good points. I think people like texas dave are unable to answer that question. They sit there and use one or two bible verses they want to condemn, but when held up to scrutiny, they areunable to come back with anything else. They ignore all of the other levitical laws in the same chapter of the bible. Hell, we'd be all stoned to death for some of our practices today, but queers seem to get the brunt of the radical fundementalists mindset and ignorance.
