I didn't notice this until a few nights ago, but since I've been on this low carb diet I have never felt gut-busting stuffed.

Now, I've never been hungry, either...but I do miss that occassional completely stuffed to the point of having difficulty breathing feeling. It's weird, but that was one of my comforts.

I brought this up with my husband and he told me that the comfort I found from that feeling is the direct reason I'm overweight. It's never normal to be full, that you should just be not hungry.

Weird.

I think this comes from the fact that its mostly the high-carb foods that make you feel super full (at least for an hour.) It's those big plates of pasta or the whole box of chow mien... eating till you cant eat any more, then wanting more in an hour.

I do notice my meal sizes have gone down. It's usually one thing, instead of like one thing and two side items... followed by dessert, sometimes. It may be a low-carb lifestyle, but it sure feels enuff like a diet.

I realize that entire thing i just said is totally baiting lisa to tell me to eat some broccoli and a salad. You can save yer breath

*giggle*

Yea, when you're in a rush it really is just easier to make the meat and skip the veggies. I, personally, try to make up for that by throwing in a salad once in a while.

Plus I'm not a Splenda user. I can't justify spending that much for a sugar substitute...even if it is better for you than aspartame. Well, aspartame is better for me than sugar, so I guess I'm not doing that bad.

That's extremely intriguing! I always felt that was a BAD way to feel, it made me feel like I was sort of harming my body by stuffing more into it than it was supposed to hold. In fact I had developed GERD (acid reflux) over the years and I really think part of it was stuffing so much food into my stomach that it started to come up the top and harm that stomach closing flap.

Your stomach is stretchy. The more you fill it to bursting, the more it stretches out like a balloon, and the more you have to eat the next time to fill it up. So you make it worse for yourself every time you do that. Conversely, the less you eat, the more it relaxes down to hold what you have in it, and the less you have to eat to be full.

If you trained yourself to feel pleasure when you were beach-balling, heck, eat some of the maltitol-rich desserts out there They'll inflate your intestines with gas and give you a beach ball effect without the carb problems

LOL you know I can't resist though!! Your body NEEDS veggies in its diet for all the nutrients they have. All low carb diets actively push this. OK, so you don't like broccoli (tho I just had them for lunch and loved them). How about asparagus? Those are SUPER easy to make and tasty. How about green beans? You can toss those in a steamer and be ready in 5 minutes.

Salads in a bag take maybe 10 seconds to prepare, or do you really not like ANY salads? Have you ever been to an Outback restaurant? Go to one and order their salad. It has got to be one of THE tastiest salads I've ever had and we now make our home salads to be like theirs.
