I've been doing a lot of research on how eating styles of childhood affect eating styles of adulthood. I'm really curious to hear how we all ate as we were growing up.

For example, eating meat daily is *very* normal for me. I grew up pretty poor, with a mom and sister in the house. But we always had meat as part of our dinner. It was either hamburgers, hot dogs, meatballs with spaghetti, a stew of some sort, maybe tunafish for a treat. I suppose every once in a while we'd have pork chops in a cream-of-mushroom soup sauce Every dish would also have a veggie with it (corn or peas or whatever) or sometimes french fries. Milk was the drink.

So for me, eating low carb isn't that strange. The general style of eating - meat with a vegetable - is the same. I suppose now I'm not as badly off as I was as a child so I can afford shrimp or steak or such as a bonus instead of just tuna fish

What were your meals like when you were growing up? Was there meat at most meals? Or was it a mostly meat-free existence? Did you carry that same eating style over into your adult life (pre-low-carb) or did you alter it?
