Can some one please tell me how to play half life 2 in single player mode. Everything I try to run the game it wants me to conect to the internet. When I do connect and try to run the game I get a window that says: "Preparing to start the game in approximately 149 minutes"

How can I play the single player version of this game?

If you're playing it on the computer, you have to connect to the internet to verify you're running a legal copy...yes, I know, dumbest way of verifying the legality of a game...unless you have highspeed internet, I do not recommend Half Life 2 on the computer...if you have an Xbox, go with that version, as you don't need the internet to play...
