man, ff7 owns, yea ffx-2 was kool but in my opinion it was not a proper final fantasy game. there was no aeons/summons under the characters control and the non-linear missions made it similar to front mission or summin. and special dress-spheres dont make up for ultimate weapons =p
ff7, however, was great from the beginning. maybe the graphics suck now, but a few years back they were great. the materia system is perfect, i never loathed any character, and i never got bored one bit, and there is way loads to do. and the game had a cool villain- Sephiroth, and kool characters (even Cait Sith =p). some kool mini games as well (especially the bike chase mini game escaping from midgar). on ratings id give ff7 9.999999 recurring/10 and ffx-2 8/10
