What an interesting and descriptive account of Allan Foster's encounter with the flying ants and red dragonflies! I imagine there are not too many people around who would be as willing as he to allow their knees to serve as a dining table for insects.

Wow! What I wouldn't give to be able to see that. The largest mass of insects that I've seen were lady bugs. It was fall in Arizona, while hiking, we came upon a tree that had a huge swarm of lady bugs on it. They were gathering for their winter hybernation. There were so many you could have used a scoop to move them. We of course, left them alone. I think I took a few photos of them, but it would take me weeks to find them. LOL
