First of all, I have to tell you that Joey Slinger, the journalist who wrote the article here, writes a regular column for our paper. He is kind-of like Dave Barry, with an edge and he looks a bit like Woody Allen. He can be off the wall, very biting and sarcastic or hilariously funny. He has also written a few serious pieces but generally, what you see here is what you get. He also, by the way, happens to be an avid birder and I've just finished reading his book on birding, which was hilarious.
