What books have you read throughout your life that made a difference in some way? I'd love to hear about it!
I'll post mine at a later time. You first!

Easy. That would have to be my college textbook in Psychoanalysis. It is the foundation for understanding the human psyche. I believe in other approaches, and/or spiritual belief systems as well, but none would be particularly meaningful without a good strong foundation in psychoanalysis.

Hi guys!
What a diverse group of books! (It's Paulo Coelho, I of Me. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard it's great!)
You know, I've had so many books that have crossed my path and made a difference. However, some of those no longer apply as I'm wading in a different part of the stream, so to speak. Some from the last few years include:
Loving What Is by Byron Katie Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford Women Who Think Too Much by Dr. Susan Nolen-Hoeksema 3 Sides of You by S. Seich

Hi Ice! Good to see you! Yep, I came back early to get this new Stress Relief series off my chest. (Curse of the 7!) Read my review of her book.

Hi Janey!
Nope, never too late to join a discussion.
Looks like we've read similar books! I own Martha Beck's books, and you know I read Myss' stuff! How's that "Something More" book? I've had it on my Amazon Wishlist for ages, but never got around to buying it!

I think I have to vote for the Lord of the Rings series by JRR because I re-read it so much and it affected my view of what was important in a person. I really associated with the "do good actions even if nobody is there to thank you" mentality.
Also Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is a classic that is very mind-shaping.
Other than that, Philip K Dick writes many stories that make you think about what is important in life.
