Hi Donna, it's good to meet you. I've always been interested in all intuitive phenomenon within metaphysical studies. Tarot is one of my favorite mediums. Pendulums I haven't tried yet, but only because I don't feel as "drawn" to it I guess, so I can't say whether I'd be any good at it. I don't, however, do divination per se. I don't believe in fate, I believe in destination, and so, divination is nothing more than a "game" for me, as it deals with "fate". For me, destiny says I have a choice, where fate says it's written in blood upon stones and I can never change it... intuitive reading of the cards is more suited to seeking guidance to my path, my destiny. (I'll say here that this only works for me, and there are many other tarot readers here in many parts of the whole, and they probably will disagree with what I've said here.) But, if you're interested in researching options other than divination, there are several books out there that deal with intuitive reading of tarot. Christine Jette, Nina Lee Braden, and Mary K. Greer are some of the prominent authors on this subject. You might check out Llewellyn Publishing, as they have a series of books called Special Topics in Tarot, and there are many books dedicated to "unorthodox" uses of the tarot. ( I hope I have not overstepped my bounds in books I think would be good for study, and if I have, please let me know Janet. )
The best thing I know to do is lots of experimentation, lots of study, as that's the only way I've ever been able to discover what works for me, and learn about other options I can try. Even with all the information available out there now thanks to the www, some things still have to be experienced personally before they make any sense.
