Hi everyone, if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it. I am trying to get some feedback on the music that I produce. I am sending these songs in for applications to colleges and am just looking for some feedback.

IF you could take a listen to them, and post what you think it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob Murray

Hi Rob!

Welcome to the New Age Forum.

I really, really enjoyed Grace Land. The combination of ethereal synthesizers and gentle electronica beat are my favorite combination in New Age music. This song rivals any song on a Pure Moods compilation--and even surpasses some of them.

I realize you were attempting to build up steam in this song, but perhaps the cymbals towards the end were just a bit much. A softer cymbal section (like the cymbals 3/4 of the way into Abandoned, for example, may sound better.) Don't get me wrong...this song is wonderful as is. It's just a thought. My 6 year old son joined me in swaying and clapping to this song, so it was a hit with him, too!

Remembrance definitely evokes the feeling of looking back, and considering what has transpired. Very nice. In the middle, though, there's quite a long silence--perhaps a tad too long?

Abandoned also conveys mood quite effectively. I felt as though I was looking over a deserted canyon in the evening...with nothing but pterodactyls crying and flying overhead. Or perhaps, some alien world where a new arrival finds themselves alone.

Very nice work. Thanks so much for sharing your gift and the fruits of your labor with us! Best wishes in your application process, as well.

(By the way, have you considered submitting these mp3's to some New Age music companies? If you're interested, I can give you the URL's to a few publishing companies I work with.)

Wow, very thorough feedback
I Have tried sending my music to companies, but I can never find any sites that allows submitions. So, posting some URL's would definately be appreciated.

Thanks for listening to my music, i'm glad you enjoyed it

P.S. Really think Grace Land is good enough to be put in a new age compilation?

Hi Rob,

I never say anything I don't mean in terms of compliments. I think Grace Land is one of the best New Age songs I've ever heard; it's right up my alley in terms of my taste.

My first husband was a professional trumpet player, and I ran his sound and mixed his demo tape...so I know a wee bit about music.
