I don't know about you, but I really love some of the ambient, ethereal sounds of New Age music! (Enya is probably my fave). I've just posted a review of Call of the Mystic by Karunesh: Call of the Mystic - Karunesh What are your favorite New Age CD's?

Hi Josh,
I don't believe I've heard that song. Which CD is it from? I have Paint The Sky With Stars and A Day Without Rain. I also have 2 of her sister's CD's (Maire Brennan).

She doesn't have it on one of her personal albums, but it's from the soundtrack for LOTR (Lord Of The Rings).

I've heard "May It Be" and I lllove it! That's the song I listen to almost every day. I also love Enya's song called "Anywhere Is". As for New Age music in general, I enjoy listening to Celtic and Tibetan one. Do you like Celtic music? Love, Elena

Ah, OK Josh. I've seen the LOTR, so perhaps I've heard it, then.
Elena, I really enjoy Celtic and Tibetan music, as well. Do you have any artists/titles to recommend?

Funny that I happen upon this thread...I just burned myself a cd last night. The entire thing is enya, enigma, john willaims ( he does alot of the scores for sound tracks...think star wars, superman, dances with wolves, last of the mohicans, harry potter, etc etc) and some bag pipes for color. I made it primarily to meditate to. I listen to it in the car and so far no errant drivers have really irritated me >
'May it be' is a beautiful song. However my current fave is 'Rain dance'.

Janet, Loreena McKennitt is my all-time favorite. There is no particular album of hers that I would recommend, because each of them is great in its own way. I also have a CD called "Celtic Women", and, as far as I could judge by the two songs from this collection, Rita Connolly is a wonderful singer too. As for Tibetan music, I only have one CD called "Tibetan Chants". It contains just 3 tracks, each lasting for about half an hour. The first and the third one only have one line in them that's repeated over and over again. I often listen to this CD when reading for my exams. It provides some sort of meditative background, but at the same time allows me to concentrate not on the song lyrics, but on my studies. Love, Elena

John Williams is certainly a wonderful composer, Wendy! My husband and I loved the movie The Village, as well as the haunting soundtrack. So, we bought it a few weeks ago, and it's amazing. The Village Soundtrack The composer is James Newton Howard who, I think, does every one of M. Night's movies. Really stunning instrumentation! Elena, I've heard of McKennit through Amazon's samplers. I've almost bought her CD's before, but just never got around to it. Maybe someday. Thanks for the tips!

Hi everyone!
I listen to new age music at work all day. I would highly recommend Yahoo's Launchcast radio... you can choose which kind of music you like, can rate everything you listen to so that you hear more/less/none of it, can eliminate artists/albums/songs, genres, etc. It is free, but you can also purchase a subscription for more freedom of choice in what you listen to (which I did since I listen so much). I have discovered some phenomenal new age artists that I would never have known about. Some of my new favorites that I can no longer live without include John Adorney, Tony Sandate, and Montana Skies. You can listen to my station (search for Kivatar2000) if you like.
((This is not a plug for Yahoo radio or anything... I just really like it, since I get no radio reception at work and have listened to my own CDs until I'm sick to death of them!!))
