Thanks so much, Susan and June! My Dad feels more confident (just wanting to "get it over with"), and I think my Mom is doing better, as well.

No, I don't think my Dad or Mom would be open to that kind of thing at all, June...but it doesn't mean we can't surround them with green/pink light, anyway!

Hi all,

After some tests, we found out that:

1. My Dad needs a quintuple bypass
2. He has a hole in his heart
3. He has a faulty valve

Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 21. The doctors give him an 85% chance of everything going OK. The tricky part is that my Dad has lung damage from years of smoking, and they're concerned about weaning him off the breathing machine. The pulmonary specialist is confident, but another pulmonary guy initially scared the [censored] out of my Dad--telling him that he'd be on a breathing machine for life

I gave him a heart shaped rose quartz I had, and wore a rose quartz necklace when I saw him yesterday. My son gave him "healing engeries", too.

Please continue to keep my Dad, the medical staff, and my Mom in your prayers. I appreciate all the healing intent and sending of energy.

Thanks so much, Susan, Lynne, Trish, and I of Solitude.

My Dad is very much at peace, and feels great! All of his vitals are perfect, and the medical staff comment how he seems in wonderful health (on the outside).

He feels that all the prayers are helping him greatly, and he and the medical staff are going into this operation quite confident.

He'll probably be in the ICU for 4-5 days (as they wean him off the breathing machine), and be in the hospital for a total of 2 weeks. He'll pretty much be grounded for 3 months, I think...

I of Solitude:

According to what my Dad said the surgeon said, everyone is actually born with a hole in their heart. With some people, the hole never closes for some reason. So, this was a life-long condition that was just discovered. They're going to either repair the valve, or replace it with a cow's valve.

An update:

My Dad had surgery yesterday, and it went quite well. He's currently in the ICU, and they got him off the ventilator with no problems! I visited with him tonight, and he talked with me...but was sleepy from the pain meds. He was actually sitting up, too!

He appreciates all the prayers, and please continue to keep him in your thoughts and such as he still has quite a road to travel yet...

Thanks to all those who are praying, sending energy, and keeping my Dad in their thoughts. It means a lot.

What encouraging news! I'm sending some Blue Medicine Buddha mantra his way:

Janet, any news on your Dad you can share with us?????? I'll keep him in my prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

Oooops, just saw the other update. Glad to hear that your dad came through surgery well. He'll still be in my prayers for that fast and complete recovery, though.

Blessings. --Kati
