Hi everyone. How can one discover his/her past life without the hypnosis by another person? I think my husband was my wife (and I was the man in one of my past lives. I also think I might have been a gypsy healer/shaman. I find myself drawn to different cultures and new age topics since I was a child. I also was told by psychics that I have a gift of psychic prophesy. I want to uncover my life themes. I also want to know how can you tell if someone was part of your pat life. One of my best friends go through similar dilemnas exactly when I encounter them. I also notice we are both plagued by anxiety. Any responses are welcomed and apprciated.

Interesting that I ran across this thread. I just recently finished reading "Many Lives, Many Masters" by Brian L. Weiss, MD. A friend of mine who has been recently widowed brought it to me to read.

It's been around for quite awhile, but is quite fascinating. Dr. Weiss is a psychiatrist who was faced with challenging everything he knew through a young woman patient of his. Kind of sounds like "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever", doesn't it? LOL But his process of coming to terms with what was presented to him is very interesting.

I've had several previous life experiences. I don't tend to get too involved in them...I am much more interested in what it is I can learn and process through them. What is most fascinating is that I've seen how each is connected to me right NOW...the thread.

And, yes, there are those in my life now whom I know I've known in past lives. How you can tell? I don't know what to say...I just know...takes time sometimes for me to catch on to it. There's usually an immediate feeling of connection...a very forceful one. Can be a bit disturbing at first when it happens with a stranger. LOL With one person I was so terribly disoriented I just kind of followed him around like a puppy wondering all the time what my feet were doing! Could have gotten me into real trouble! But later I had a lucid dream revealing the connection and the lightbulb went on! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> It's proved one of the most significant and rewarding friendships of my life.

One of the best was is meditation, and connecting with your subjective awareness, let the images flow into your consciousness, directing your attention to the images, and mentally ask about who you're... keep a journal and try to find information about the images what you receive, like names, timeperiods, occupations, country... then search for any information what it can validate the information...
The biggest problem we (physically manifested) individuals through our objective world have been told, the imagination is something what we have to avoid....
Well based on my own experiences, connecting with many many of my other focuses (lives) I can say that one of our greatest tool IS our imagination that is the direct connection to our essence, who we actually are...

I would be leary about listening to any psychic who tell you that YOU have this gift... WE ALL DO!!!! it is matter of YOUR intention YOUR desire to have self-knowledge, and understanding who you (we) really are...

Here is one other excersise what is easy to do in case if you not meditate...

ELIAS: ��I will give you an exercise, as we are incorporating a desire to be �fading� or �blinking out,� and wishing to be viewing other aspects of your focus. You may place yourselves before a mirror. You may do this with your lighting slightly dimmed, as to not glare or distract your concentration; and while you are viewing your image within the mirror, be concentrating on your essence, and watch your features change. [session 51, November 01, 1995]

You may, in indirect lighting, not very bright, view within your mirror. As you are gazing at yourself and allowing your consciousness to drift, you will view shifting, within shape, of the form before you. You may view another developmental focus. You may view another dimension. You will view another aspect of your essence. This allows you to connect with another portion, so to speak, of your essence, and also allows you personal validation of things beyond your present perception. Therefore, the more that you practice exercises in altering your perception within consciousness, the more you also validate your own self; this allowing you to, little by little, widen your perception.

Now I have to express my understanding based on my experiences, and understanding about the *past lives*..I understand and matter of fact shared the same metaphysical beliefs, - based on our objective awareness, and the illusions of separations, and the linear time concept - that our lives comes one after the other...
Fortunately many of the great mind like Brian Green, Allan Wolf, Michael Talbot leading quantum physicist discovering and try to make us understanding that our linear time is only apply to this dimension...
Therefore all of our lives simultaneous and happening now so our *past lives personalities* is very much influencing and effecting us....
Therefore *I* the current personality, objectively not identify *myself* with the other personality but they're with their experiences, lives still very much my whole self.

The following analog helped me to understand what is the *YOU*

In this, I express you to view yourselves as being a room. Your physical self is a room, and within this room there are hundreds of televisions, and each of these televisions holds one channel, one picture, one play, one scenario, and each of them are different, but they are all contained within this one room.

Each of the screens are a focus of you. They are all a creation of you, an aspect of you, and they are all contained within you. You are one of these television screens. You are one focus of attention of essence, just as within your physical body you may focus your attention upon several different areas of your physical form simultaneously. You may be aware of your vision, of your hearing, of your finger tapping, of stimulation of side of your body, of a throbbing toe, all simultaneously. In like manner, your essence is aware and interactive with all of these focuses of attention simultaneously, and viewing all of these television screens at once.

Yes, you're right... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> That IS the point! In my experience with speaking with others regarding past lives, many get so involved with the past that they lose sight of the now. But then that can happen whether one has past life experiences or not, doesn't it? :rolleyes:

I understand what you expressing, that unfortunately many individual sees themselves as I said earlier, as a separate entity due to the mass metaphysical beliefs.... (again I'm not judging anyone beliefs) but the lack of understanding who we really are, create the illusion of the separatedness from ourselves and many time people get obsessed with their "past personalities"like if they would of been or is someone else.... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
In my understanding and experiences our essence who we're manifest to experience all aspect of the physicality and use those experiences in any given timeframe to our essence benefits.
Now while we view ourselves in each focus/live times objectively as one person, one ego, in the reality we accessing, influencing our whole selves from the past, present, and future selves...they're not Higher Self, not collected in our soul they're not waiting for us to meet us when we die, they're just a countless of US
The *past* selves just as accessable in the now, then the future one, since all simultaneous...
