Hello! I've just posted an intriguing interview with a practicing Pendulist: Using A Pendulum - Interview With A Pendulist Sheree Rainbolt-Kren has spent twenty-five years in the professional theater as a Producer, Director and Actress in Los Angeles and New York City. A miraculous change of direction happened for her when she stumbled across a marvelous work called A Course In Miracles. It was then, five years ago, that Sheree left the professional theater and went on a dedicated spiritual journey that had nothing to do with show business. In this interview, I ask Sheree how pendulums work, how they can be used, and how to store them. She even shares a spine-tingling story about her first encounter with a pendulum. Enjoy! Btw, have you ever used a pendulum for guidance? What has been your experience?

I got one last summer. It's a rose quartz crystal on a chain. I don't know how to use it, and haven't really tried yet. Do you have any resources for learning? Nice article, BTW, I really enjoyed it. Heather

Thanks, Heather. (I love rose quartz, btw!) I have a book that I haven't reviewed yet called: Pendulum Magic for Beginners: Power to Achieve All Goals It looks to be easy to read and very well done. The book teaches you to communicate with your subconscious mind, find lost objects, resolve health issues, explore past lives, use Huna rituals to achieve goals, and more. Note to self: you need to write a review on this book! (I received 3 boxes just today. I'm unundated with books, decks, psychic games, etc.! Ack. I love it though. )

MM Heather & Janet!
Janet, thanks for bringing up this topic. I can't wait for your review of this book! :rolling: No hurry; I know you're a busy lady!
Heather, like you, I purchased a pendulum a couple of years ago (mine's amethyst) and it was put on the back burner in favor of Tarot and my AA degree. Now that I'm finished with school and have picked up the Tarot again, I'm finding that a lot of these divination methods enhance one another. I'm most intrigued by people using pendulums to locate lost objects (would save me time, I tell ya! LOL ). I've only done a few "yes/no" type of inquries, but with good results.

Brigit Silverbranch here. My partner and I started using a pendulum six years ago. She and I found our house using one. We wrote a list of home addresses that fit our price, location and size requirements down on a yellow legal pad and dowsed with the pendulum over each one. We had lots of "Heck, no's", a few "maybe's", and three really strong "yes" answers. We made appointments to tour the yes addresses, loved #1, liked #2 and #3 less, and went back and bought #1. It worked really well for us! BTW-the asking price was lowered $10,000.00 that day.

Hi again, yerbatera! I'm hoping to review the pendulum book very soon. Every book I review, I read cover-to-cover. (No skimming and writing a BS synopsis for me!) Because of that, it sometimes takes me longer to review more scholarly or lengthy books...especially if I have no prior knowledge about it. (For example, there are several books I have to review on Kabbalah, but because it's like a foreign language to me, I'd have to really have a big chunk of quiet time to 'get it'. At least, I'm assuming. It may be more easy to grasp than I think...)
Welcome Brigit Silverbranch! What a lovely name. A question for both you and yerbatera: how did you "program" your pendulum? How did you verify it's accuracy?
I've tried the pendulum, and I just feel like I'm having my chain yanked. I dunno. I suppose I'm leery of giving away my decision making capabilities in any away, and am just not convinced yet. It may have to do with me programming the pendulum correctly...I dunno. I just feel like it sways the way it wants to...higgeldy piggledy...and just doesn't help.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Dear Janet - I didn't really do much in the way of "programming" it, per se. I loved how it looked and felt, so I carried it around in my pocket for quite some time, and even slept with it under my pillow. That probably did a lot to attune it to me. A very common practice is to hold the pendulum still and ask it at the begining of every session to show you a "yes", a "no", and an "undecided" answer. These may or may not be the same every time. I personally don't believe there is anything magickal about the pendulum, and that as with any dowsing tool(and some would argue, any divination tool) it is actually amplifying tiny muscle movements or energy patterns that are already present, thereby bringing them to our conscious attention. So, in a way, what you suspect (about yanking your own chain) may be true, and that's fine! Good luck with your experiments! I trusted the pendulum's answers, because deep down, I really believe that they came from my "higher self", or whatever you prefer to call it. Blessings - Brigit

I'm just discovering it (and actually I just came across this group through a link from a Pendy Yahoo list-- ThePendulumForum). I bought my first pendy last week-- a simple brass one-- and am not to the point that I am getting answers yet, but I've just started. I'm still working on "yes, no, ready".
A good resource I found is pendulumcharts.com. In addition to free downloadable charts, you'll find a link to pendy instruction online. Pretty cool.
I'm starting with a book from the library-- The Pendulum Kit (minus the kit!). It starts you out with a "yes, no, ready" exercise without a chart. I like that idea-- start without being tied to a chart.
It also suggests the 4 part intro before each time you work with your pendulum, which I think is pretty standard-- address the pendulum: This is what I want to do. Can I? May I? Am I ready?
Be well.

Hi Michael! I just bought my first 'official' pendy a few days ago from Sheree! It's called Opening Heart It's made of sterling silver wire, a rose quartz point, pink tourmaline, rhodonite, moonstone and rose quartz beads. I was asking Sheree about getting My Guides in rose quartz, but when I saw Opening Heart, I just knew it was the one for me! I started reading the Pendulum Magic book I mentioned just last night, and am really looking forward to working with it. Out of curiousity, Michael, who are you asking "may I?" and "can I?" That seems rather odd to me, especially if the pendulum is an extension of our nervous system (as this book seems to be saying.) Why the need to ask permission?
