What a great time for horror movies! I am a big fan of the Universal horror films and will certainly be watching them Halloween day.

My favorite Halloween movie is the original Halloween (1978, Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasance)! I watched it the first time in a big old movie theater... and a real bat was flying around the entire time!! eek And although not the best-acted movie, Prince of Darkness (1987, also with Donald Pleasance) is in my collection and is *always* worth a late-night watch!

On the not-so-scary side, Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic are so much fun!!

Yes..the first Halloween movie is a must watch! I saw it at a drive-in theater...oh how I miss drive-in theaters. I know there are still a few in existence, but none in our area. There was nothing better than watching movies on the true "BIG SCREEN"!!

Good movie...but give me the old vampire movies like "Dracula" with Bela Lugosi and most any of them with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. I grew up watching those movies so that in itself should give you a hint towards the fact that I'm OLD!!LOL

I will be pulling out ole' Jason and Nightmare on Elm Street. They'e still my favorites. I did not like Freddie vs Jason though, too predictable.

I'm scared at this time of year and will be staying indoors.
Trick or treating is the Devil's work.
2 years ago my late husband was blinded in his left eye by a kid's prank!

I'm leaving a pumpkin outside with its head on a spike and not answering the door.

There are specials on scarey movies all over the TV. I am a scaredy baby so everything scares me and I do not like it all that much BUT here are some of my scariest picks:

THE EXORCIST(although the book IS scarier)

THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE(Ditto the book!)

JAWS

ALIEN(all of 'em)

THE BIRDS and PSYCHO

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and RED DRAGON
but MANHUNTER based on the same book as RD is really good as well...

and you?
