I'm from the NYC area and believe me, Chandeliers are still "in". The difference is that years ago we called them "big" earrings. Now they call them "chandeliers". "Big" or "chandelier", what the so called trends decided to call them will ALWAYS be in.

I think that anyone who watched the Golden Globes award show would realize that chandelier earrings are still rather popular, at least with gown-wearing actresses.

I say, wear it if you like. I never like to listen to those articles because by the time a trend is over, I am usually just starting - its hard to keep up with this stuff!

I believe in following "your own trend". Not every trend looks right on every person, so if the earrings look great and you feel great in them, then wear them! Your confidence will radiate and THAT is the trend you want to carry on.

Absolutely, Marisa! I coudn't have said it better myself.
I started this post back in September 2004, when "rumors" were surfacing that chandeliers would soon be gone from the fashion scene. Well, it's pretty clear that they continue to be popular, and I doubt they're going anywhere for quite some time. So much for the rumors!

I guess time will tell - but the prices are surely coming down for such earrings. I bought some really cute chandelier's from www.universalbazaar.com for less than 4 dollars each and the quality is GREAT !! So..is it out? I don't know - but i sure do like them for now.

Chandelier earrings are classics. They were in a decade ago. They are always so flattering. Don't think they would ever really go out of style.
Anyway I agree that the fashion retailers keep changing the trends to make money.
I mean when everyone has this season's in thing, they figure they sell more next season by making this season's fashion out, so everyone would be forced to buy the latest in thing to stick with the trends.

People who follow the trends whether it is with fashion or something else must be exhausted at night if not close to losing their minds!

I believe one should never really go by what's in style, what's not. The one that goes along just well with the dress justifies the purpose. Sure, we wish to be i trend but looking justified with what goes well with the dress is better than going all hilarious trying to make it up to the trend.
