You are SO right, Lynne. The Kingdom of Heaven IS so much more than a dreamworld. It's interesting for to think nightmares could be hell, though. What could be worse than living those bad dreams (nightmares) throughout eternity? And what could be better than the Kingdom that is promised?

Just a thought...

Lisa, have you seen the movie "What dreams may come" ? Robin Williams stars in it and it is sorta like what you are saying. More like DEATH could be a nightmare, if you make the wrong decisions.

If you really want to know the truth about heaven go to www.jesussecret.org. Read the 9th Chapter in the book The Jesus Secret: The Hidden Truth FREE. Indeed, this will settle the controversy.

Faith is the evidence of things not seen. Evidence means proof. Proof means fact. Therefore, faith is a fact {A God Fact!}--Faith: An Unseen Fact by AIM OG www.jesussecret.org

Oh my...
I certainly can't recommend this book to anyone!

I don't agree with it at all.

However, the most compelling, spiritual depiction of Jesus as God's Holy Sacrificial Seed is outlined in the book of Mark, And with him they crucified two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left (15:27). Check illustration on page 73. This particular scripture clearly reveals the hidden secret regarding Jesus' crucifixion, as such planetary and spiritual seed because The Two Thieves represent The Two Leaves! For there is no other reason for Jesus dying adjacent to two thieves other than the fact that the two thieves represent the planetary and spiritual two leaves.

The previous is an excerpt from the afore mentioned jesussecret.org...

I always percieved the 2 thieves as akin to having an 'angel' upon each sholder, one being good (the repentant) and the other not so good (he who gets his eyes pecked out).

This plant metaphor is all well and good if that's what works for you. Being a horticulturalist/florist for the last 10 years I can see the similaries, but some had to sit and think about it for a stretch.

However, even tho I myself am a very religious person, I prefer to read the bible as literature and not necessarily fact (yes, I know I'm going to get flack for saying that). If you wnt I'll explain myself later on.

Until then,

x0x Wendy

Quote: , I was led to the fourth chapter in the book of Colossians ...I came across a bombshell in verse 11, it read, "and Jesus which is called Justus."

The author makes a big thing of this verse as if it refers to Jesus the Christ. It does not.
Jesus was a very common Jewish name in those times. Justus means righteous.- also a common name.
Paul often spoke of his companions in his letters.

Many Bible characters were called by more than one name.

Acts 1:23 " ...Joseph called Barsabbas (also called Justus)..."
Acts 18:7 " Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God."

Wendy,
You might be interested in the book "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel

He was an award winning reporter for the Chicago Tribune and an atheist (yes I know you are not an atheist)when he decided to investigate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He is a tough reporter and dug into historical evidence, scientific evidence, and psychiatric evidence, among others to prove or disprove the story of Jesus.

Very interesting.

Yes Lynne, I have heard of him, though I haven't read his work.
I too, prefer to read or absorb as much religious information that I can at my own pace. I tend to shy away from talking about it unless I feel that points should be made and shared. Not to say that people are wrong, but that there are 2 sides to all stories/theories.
