Religion is a very personal experience and I feel that any positive belief system that works for you is wonderful.

Part of who we are is to accept others as they are. If you find comfort and balance through your beliefs then you've found your path. I have a friend who is a christian wiccan healer. I've never seen a more balanced and happy soul than she is. Blessed Be.

I have been both a practicing witch and protestant Christian educator for 20 years. Wicca broadened and softened my faith, gave me permission to be "mothered" and to find God in the enormous beauty of the world around us. Christianity did not preclude any of that, but Wicca spoke to it. I remember being almost giddy, on my hands and knees in our teeny urban yard, trimming the small spot of grass we had with scissors, lovingly cutting "mother's" hair. It was beautiful and filled me with a joy I hadn't felt too often in traditional church. Being a Protestant, we didn't have the benefit of many females like the Marys to curl up and feel friendly with. I think that the reason Celtic spirituality has caught on so much is that it re-colours those pretty black and white spiritual practices of the Puritans, and allows prayer and ritual back into the ordinary things of life, cooking, walking, cleaning, sleeping, waking, god/ess is invoked and present everywhere. You've got to love that, whether it's called Christianity or Wicca or spirituality whatever.

Another book recommendation for you and anyone who got hooked by the DaVinci Code then! The Woman with the Alabaster Jar: Mary Magdalen and the Holy Grail by Margaret Starbird, Bear & Company Publishing ISBN 1-879181-03-7 Not a novel, but a scholarly look at evidence that Mary Magdalen was one and the same as Mary of Bethany, sister of Martha and Lazarus, and bride to Jesus. It made a believer out of me!

I was raised by a father that was a devout, spiritual Christian and a mother that followed the Craft. They honored each others beliefs and paths. So the outcome of that union was me, a Christian Witch. I have always seen the Holy Spirit as the Mother/Goddess, through which all miracles and magic comes. I have never been one to pass judgement on anyone else's path, if it fits for you it is right for you. I know that people feel that my path is a oxymoron, it is not their path, it is mine and it fits me well. So please before you pass judgement on someones path, think about how the world has viewed us as women, witches, healers, ect. How we have been persecuted for what we innately are and the harm that this has done. I feel that any spiritual path is first, Do no Harm, then, Tolerance. Let us be the example for the future, Acceptance, Honor, Love and Tolerance. [color:"purple"] [/color]

If you do not believe in hell then you do not believe in Christ and therefore are not a Christian. Jesus said there was a hell. You cannot say you follow Christ and then call him a liar. You also cannot be a Christian witch as Jesus said you can only serve one master. Witchcraft is in the realm of satan. It is his perverted version of miracles. Jesus said satan exists so there too if you deny satan you call Christ a liar.

Not all Christians believe in a literal hell, HeartofDavid. Many Quakers (Friends) for example have a totally different interpretation of Jesus's teachings on Hell. They believe that if you commit most "sins" (Adultery, Hating thy Neighbor, Coveting, etc.) you're making your life on earth a living Hell, and by being kind, good, honest, understanding, you're making your life Divine. The belief is that Jesus died to save everyone, not just Christians.

First I would like to address a common misconception. Witchcraft is not in the realm of any religion. Witchcraft is a practice that utilizes universal and personal energies to create a specific outcome. It is a practice that can be used within the context of any religion.
It has nothing to do with satan or any particular religion's gods, including Christianity. It isnt about serving any "master" only about your own practice.
Now... I welcome anyone to this forum including Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims and any other religion. However, I do not condone bashing or otherwise condeming someone elses religion,or telling another person what they do/not or should/not believe. This includes one type of Christian speaking ill of another type of Christian.
I invite anyone on this forum to speak their own beliefs but in a respectful way. We all have our own paths here and none of us has the right or knowledge to say another is wrong. Only to share our own beliefs and opinions in an open and respectful dialogue.
I have also come to the conclusion over my years of practice and meeting people of many belief systems, that the term "Christian Wicca" or "Christian Witch" will always be a hot button term and will elicit controversy no matter where you are, and it will never be defined to everyones liking. But thats just an aside and my own experience and opinion.

Sorry Fiona <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I didn't mean to be starting anything or be harrassive or disrespectful, I just wanted to clear up a common misconception that some people have, Christians and non-Christians alike.

Oh no Megan! I wasnt singling out anything you said! You had some really valid points.
You didnt tell anyone what to believe or condemn them for their beliefs. Your voice is totally welcome in my forum. My issue was with heartofdavid stating that if you don't believe a particular way then you cant call yourself Christian.
