I think I have to say Eric Clapton. I remember as a teen loving the music by Cream, Derick and The Dominos and the Yardbirds without ever realizing that at the heart of this great music was Eric Clapton. What is more amazing is that his talent as risen above the alcohol and drugs and the personal tragedies and endured for more than 30 years. Yet, he remains humble about his talents and doesn't understand why fans call him the greatest guitarist.
For me it's Springsteen. I am a hardcore Bruce fan. (I really enjoyed your article about the tour opener in NJ, btw!). I've seen him around 10 times...just saw him in Washington, DC. Wasn't able to get tickets to the Jersey show - and I am a Jersey Girl, too boot!!!
Why is there never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over?
I like Bruce too and want to get the new CD but perhaps for my BD ... I got the Counting Crows instead ... I've not seen him in concert and now that I live in WNC I'm not likely either ... too far for most concerts to Charlotte.
I will be putting a discology of Bruce's work up soon along with lyrics for most of the bigger hits ... I will be adding more lyrics after a while too.
Chris Tell us about the Bruce concert in Washington? Did you enjoy it ... did it measure up to other concerts you have seen with him ... and how do you like the new songs ... I understand about half the set was from the new album.
Alice Cooper. The man still makes compelling albums like 2000's awesome Brutal Planet and 2003's The Eyes of Alice Cooper and is still the greatest live act, I have ever seen.
