I'll be glued to the TV tomorrow night! I want to see Toby Keith win Entertainer of the Year. I like Alan Jackson and George Strait, but they seems to dominate the CMA's. I would like to see Toby get the same respect, he brings fans into country music too.
For Vocal Group, it's a toss up between Alabama and Lonestar, I love both groups. I'd also like to see Dierks Bentley get the Horizon award.
What about you?

I came home from a meeting and was glad to get here while Gretchen was singing. she's not my favorite so I didn't feel I missed anything, although Cheating is better than the other two.
Keith Urban is great but I doubt if he will win tonight but he wins in my book. I like Martina, Kenny, Dierks, Lonestar.
talk to you later.

Well, I was off on all my wants...LOL! Kenny Chesney as Entertainer of the Year, Gretchen Wilson as Horizon Award winner and Rascal Flatts (again) as Vocal Group of the year. Oh well, maybe next year.

I was so thrilled that Keith Urban won Male Vocalist of the Year. He was so shocked that he won. It was gratifying to see someone's reaction when they did not expect to win.
Actually, I thought he was going to faint. I thought I saw someone reach over and grab him when his name was announced. <G>
He is my ultimate favorite at the moment.

I read reports that Keith Urban just thought he was filling out the category and didn't think he stood a chance of winning. That is the kind of reaction that I like to see when an artist wins, he didn't expect it. Just like Kenny Chesney didn't expect to win Entertainer of the Year, you could just see the shock on his face. I got a bit upset that they cut him off and didn't let him have hardly any time to say thank you to anyone.
Sometimes I think when the artists reach the upper ranks of music and start selling out the venues and every CD they release goes to the top 5 or 10 that they feel like they are entitled to those awards. That they expect to win them.

I didn't get to see the end of the show. I plan to tape it tomorrow and watch it again. You're right, after awhile they win so often that it's almost expected. I thought the show was a little on the dull side during the bantering. Had they cut some of that out, Kenny would have had a lot of time. I thought Brooks and Dunn left a lot to be desired as hosts.
There is a gal I know who thought Keith was too emotional - she doesn't like him. But he is emotional; he was shocked; when he realized his name was called as the winner I am sure he had a huge rush. When you are not expecting something like that, you sort of shut down and then become euphoric.

My husband told me that he heard on the radio that Brooks & Dunn were told to tone it down for the broadcast. I have seen them in concert and they are nothing like what was happening on the stage Tuesday night. Even in past years when accepting awards they were more animated than I saw on the show.
Ronnie Dunn just looked uncomfortable in my opinion. It's like he was doing everything he could to keep himself in line and follow what he was told. I'm sorry, but if it's true that they were told to tone it down, why ask them to host in the first place? Brooks & Dunn is a fun duo and they just didn't seem to be having fun hosting at all to me.

I've never seen them in person so I don't know. The little I have seen of them, they seem to be low key. If they are live wires, then they should have been free to be themselves.
