Hi there! i was wondering if u guys would be able to give me any suggestions

i am currently in the middle of a research project to do with Map Regression. I basically have to regress an area/place by looking at maps 'and things', but i would love to use other resourses to bak up my theories.

any ideas about what other resources i could use to back up the map work?

An interesting project for surely sure and one I've never thought to work with myself so I'm afraid I won't be much help to you. Mayhaps Aig can be of assistance.

What area did you choose?

I would think cities (city maps) might be easier to regress than countries. Certainly using such things newspapers, diaries, photographs, almanics and such, you could find much information to back up your map work.

ah well its a Lanscape Archaeology project...and we're not really allowed to do cities/towns coz it would be too easy

i have chosen a very intersting area that has not had much research done on it. i'm also choosing it for my dissertation (to get my degree).
its a deserted Medieval settlement with a Motte and Bailey Castle attached and intersting links with the rest of the landscpe and other archaeological features. its also on the edge of a present day settlement ( a tiny little village) with a Norman church

so i think i would like to regress the size of the community and also the land use around it. i can;t do much about the medieval archaeology because thats too far bak to do easily with Map Regression ... typical
