I never thought I'd like Stephen King. I read him a few years ago for research. I started with his writing book which for some reason lead me to read The Stand which I totally love. It's funny but as I look at your list I notice I've seen more of the movies based on his books than read his books. Sometimes a book is scarier which is probably why I haven't read more of them.

SK movies I've seen.
The Tommyknockers
Misery
Pet Sematary
Christine
Cujo
Firestarter
The Dead Zone
The Stand
The Shining
The one with the guys in prison.

Has anyone read "The Talisman" Stephan King co-wrote it with some other guy... it is my favorite one...I read my copy untill it fell apart and I can't seem to find it at my Barnes and Noble any more. I've requested it....but not yet.

It's a great story... I won't give it away, but I sure like to have lunch with the person behind the imagination...

Hi, everybody

well, I do like reading for Stephen King as well as watching movies based on his books. I must admit that I am a fan of his and I am grateful for his books because they were the reason I met my fiance, hehehe

I was in a chat room when we started discussing King's book, and there was my dream man who was also crazy about King, maybe crazier than me, and we started talking about Carrie, the Shining and other books. Since this day, we couldn't stop talking and we got engaged last summer, and of course King has become an important part of our life

I read these books:

Pet Sematrary
The Shining
Carrie
Salem's Lot
Dream Catcher

And watched movies based on these books:

The Stand
Firestarter
Misery
Christine
The Shining
Dream Catcher
IT

Well, that's all i can remember for now

see you around

Birdy 31,

Wow! Way to talk King and get a fiance to boot! I've read most of his books. Do you have any specific favorites? Inquiring, disturbed minds want to know! Lets see...hmmm...favorite for me...well, if we are talking downright spooky, Pet Cemetary comes to mind. I enjoy most of his work, though.

I've read about half of his novels (up until about '92) my favorite novel is The Shining (favorite horror movie too!) And I tend to like his short stories and novellas. I also loved Through the Eyes of the Dragon, but that's not really horror

I'm reading Stephen King's 'Bag of Bones'; still a King fan. What are the Dark Tower novels like Margaret? - anyone? - are these more fantasy - they sound a little off the beaten track for King??

Justin,

Hi, there

Well, you bet Pet Sematrary is my favorite, too. I loved it once I read it the first time and I am dying to watch the movie though my friends didn't like it much. I also adore The Shining and i like the movie though it is much less interesting than the book itself. The book is so big and full of details and in order to have a movie as intersting as the book, you need a seven-hour movie at least!!! These two are my favorites though I must say everything King writes is really marvellous for me

Thanks for your nice comment

See you around
