I used to make tons of candles, and enjoyed a little owl mold and a pyramid mold.

I like to use alot of different types of things around the house, as long as it can withstand the extreme heat of molten wax. Since, I have twins, which means I have alot of baby food jars, I use them. When making candles, you don't have to buy fancy molds because some of the best molds are sitting in your house or are the containers that you're throwing away.

Cathy I use a lot of candle molds when I make soap. There some really intricate designs in molds these days.

My mom used her bread pan to make a large block candle and looks great!

The baby food jars a great idea too. My kids made a craft at church once where they put colored tissue paper pieces all around the outside and then put a small scented tea light inside. When the candle is lit it looks like stained glass.

Do any of you have recommendations for books or other references that I can use to get started candle making?

Thanks,

Maddie

to be honest hun, you can go to the library and get all types.. to use as background info... there all basically ok.. but its all about testing and more testin on your end, and what you like. I do know you can buy some recipes on Ebay that ladies sell on a Ebook format.

Hope that helps! Happy Candling!
