WWE has yet ventured down another avenue...surprising us and yet not shocking us. Vince said we were in for some surprises and he was right, wasn't he?

We can all agree that both RAW and Smackdown! needed to be brought back to life but has it gone too far with this whole lesbian/gay thing? Of course, like they say, any publicity is good publicity and the WWE has certainly struck both chords of the lesbian/gay alliance...they are outraged by the Hot Lesbian Action act on RAW and are applauding the union of Billy and Chucky on Smackdown!. I guess if you're going to face something head on this was the way to do it, huh?

Any thoughts on this? Personally, and of course, this is coming from a woman, guys...but the whole HLA thing was a bit much, especially with the 2 thugs running in like they did at the end. I'm really growing tired of them.

Well, you know what they say...Sex Sells! WWE and Vince McMahon certainly got loads of publicity with the whole Billy/Chucky union and said they were going to continue down that road. Here it is November and does anyone remember Billy & Chucky? When was the last time they were on by the way? Just reminds us how short WWE's memory is, of course, that goes with the entertainment business period, huh?

Chele,

Will have to admit that the sexual exploits of Vince do turn me on at times. Wrestling has always been a turn on for many of the women and some of the men. Adding the divas added a dimension for the men viewers and certainly some of the women viewers.

Yikes. nothing Vince does turns me on. Batista and Melina's little locker room smooch turned me on. But Vince? ACK!

They will be going down a new route with Orlando Jordan as a bisexual character stuck in a love triangle of sorts with his real life friend (not sure what that means and not reading anything into it) and Trinity (formerly of TNA) soon.

It will be interesting to see how WWE handles this one.

They are also subtly going with a lesbian angle with Mickie James and Trish but that's more of an obsession thing rather than an attraction thing I think. It's hard to gauge Mickie James' character as it pertains to Trish just yet.

HLA was silly but, if the guys like it, I suppose I can live with it since I get to see muscled, tanned, and toned men in skimpy clothing for most of the show. Granted they aren't doing anything sexual (which is a plus in my eyes) but still. They're easy on the eyes!

However, I was not a fan of Edge and Lita's sex in the ring gig. They looked uncomfortable and it made me uncomfortable and I was thinking of the kids out there and ... nah, it wasn't for me. Not because I am a prude but because it jut wasn't sexy, entertaining, or really going anywhere obviously.

Chuck and Billy -- they didn't bother me although I did find it ironic that that many gay rights groups latched onto them as heroes of sorts when it was all a storyline. When it was revealed they weren't really gay, there were a lot of angry people out there who were supporting their union.

WWE loves it. The more they can rile people up, the more publicity for them. Plus, many fans like that stuff.

I don't MIND it but want it balanced with good storylines and good wrestling.

Oh and I can tolerate all that better than Tim White's weekly suicide sessions. Terrible stuff, that.

Well the sex in the ring thing ended justly with Cena landing the FU on Lita, Edge just another transitional Champion. Glad Cena has his belt back, the whole Rated R Superstar thing with Edge was dull, had to watch the programmes before letting the kids see them and where's the fun in that?

I wonder what goes on when the creative team sits down and thinks about these things. Not only do we have the HLA, Mickie/Trish (which I don't mind, because like Patty said it is more of a stalker-y thing) and the new Orlando Jordan...but there are the Dicks, the Hearthrobs, and all the innuendo that those guys have, Beth and Shelly will be more HLA when they come up (even though they're with Idol Stevens)...it's like the only 'gimmick' they can come up with now.

I haven't been watching wrestling long enough to see the Billy and Chuck thing, but I did like Rico. He was a one-of-a-kind at the time, though (I think?), now it's just everywhere. And when it falls flat on the audience, I'm sure the wrestlers will be the first blamed for not 'connecting' properly.

Vince is a hippocrocopig and nothing he did could push my buttons either. Have to say nothing involving Melina could either. All the hugging between Rey and Batista did do it for me though.I'm obviously aware there was no overtly sexual element to it, it was just kind of tender and sweet.

Though the Heart Throbs are gone (fired), we still have the Dicks to deal with and the new Orlando Jordan storyline to sit through. Vince is the guy who comes up with these sexually oriented storylines as well as the very warped Tim White suicide vignettes. He loves that stuff. He wants to shock and do soft porn I think. Maybe real porn if he could get away with it.

I don't mind sex on WWE TV.I didn't mind Batista and Melina and I didn't mind Cena kissing Maria. I liked Trish with Jericho and tolerated Lita and Matt. I never liked Lita with Edge. I hope that finally ends soon. Yeck.

Billy and Chuck and Rico was just fluff and no one believed for a second it was "real". But they have to keep in mind that, when they portray characters as gay, they need to do it realistically if possible. But then, they stereotype everyone, why would they start being responsible now?

I don't mind at all seeing the likes of Batista and Rey hugging. It's great to see macho men act like real people and show some of their softer sides now and then. I like it. Not in a sexual way at all but in a human way.

Back to sexuality, ECW had some good lesbian storylines that worked. Too bad Paul Heyman isn't there to guide Vince. Well, he is but Stephanie hates Paul (He outshines her) and so Paul can't do much.

I think WWE needs to realize that they have gay and bi sexual viewers and stereotyping them is as bad as stereotyping races or religions. But they do it amyway. It's amazing how much they get away with at times when you think about it. They insult entire sectors of people all the time!
