I have 2 sons and a daughter and I would like to give them all a scrapbook of their own, but that just seems overwhelming to maintain 3 seperate scrapbooks. Can you give me any advise on the best way to handle this? Thank you so much!

First off my best advice for you is to get Three-Ring Binders!

I have four kids, and I have scrapbooks going for the older three, havent started the baby's yet <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

But I usually just scrap whichever pics I want and then put them into the alums later. I use the three ring binders so that I can rearrange the pages veeerrrryy easily.

Also, I am making chronological albums so that I scrap pics of the same event several times, usually I try and just put important pages into the girls's books. By important, I mean pages about their events, or pages about their personalities or pages about their important stuff.

The general just "cute" things, everyday general stuff that I scrap, I put in the chronological books. I have also got albums of just christmas, just Halloween, and such like.

Anyway thats the way I have done it, and it works for me.

This is something that I struggled with FOREVER! In fact maybe I will go write an article about it sometime!

This is how I am doing my scrapbooks. I also have 3 children- one girl and two boys.

I have an album for each of the kids as well as a yearly family album. I agree with Lawanda 12x12 3 ring binders are the way to go for the kids albums because they are so easy to just add pages.

I do not make 3 of each page that I make. I have heard some people do that but I know that I would go completely CRAZY! LOL So I mainly scrap each childs events....for instance, their birthday all goes in their album then I do one layout for the family album. I do one page with a picture of each family member on their birthday for each childs album as well...usually the picture includes their cake so they can remember what everyones theme was for that year.

I also do a Chrismas album and a Halloween album because those are both events that I take a great deal of pictures. Enough pictures to warrant their own album! I typically end up doing a vacation album each year as well because I always have enough pictures from each vacation for its own album.

I do a page for each child of Christmas and Halloween. I will usually add a page of vacation in each childs album as well but they are mainly a family picture and then pictures of that child.

The way I look at it is I don't want each of my children ending up with like 30 albums before they are even 18! LOL If I make a page for each of them of every signle thing that I scrap and take pictures of they will have at least 30 or more! I think A few albums will be much more appreciated and cherished. The family albums will be a plenty and they can divy up the pages from those when I am gone if they so wish!

Check out this article for some tips on birthday albums! http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art28242.asp

I hope this helps! Would love to see what others think about this topic and how you are doing your albums. I will add your ideas to the article when I write it!

I agree, I LOVE 3 rings.

Robbie,

I do this. I have a 3 ring, because I get bored easily. I do not scrap chronologically nor all of my pix for one theme at once, lol.

Disorganized. . . .gets bored easily. . . . .whatever you want to call it.

New kits and new embellishments that match pix that I have taken are what usually dictates what I am in tne mood to work on.

Therefore, I scrap what I want, and put in a 3 ring. Then, when it is full, I separate it into albums. If I have a lot of one year, I do a chronological album. If I have a lot of Christmas photos, I do a Christmas album, etc.

I agree, too, that a family album, as well as individual albums are good, too.

hth!

Hugs:)
