Recently some of you posted about starting your own "blogs" or being interested in doing one. I did start one and am really enjoying the creativity of it. I wish I knew more about it, like how to add things in the sidebar, but for now, I'm happy. Come see my first dishcloth with dpns' and my other projects when you have time. I'm working on another dishcloth just now and looking at summer shortsleeve tops, hoping to find just the right pattern for me. You can find my blog at knittermag.blogspot.com

Oh Maggie, that dishcloth is beautiful, I'm so proud of you, you did a great job !!!!! And the tatting is nice too. Do you shuttle, finger or needle tat ? I do shuttle and finger. Have you stopped by to see Gillian ? www.bellaonline.com/site/tatting She is Bellaonlines tatting host and she knows everything about tatting.

Eva, thankyou for all the nice things you said!! Heartwarming to say the least. That dishcloth was a real challenge and I really know it was answered prayer to get it started, because I came that close to giving up. I took the pattern to a lady who used to knit quite abit, and she couldn't get it started either and said, was it really worth the trouble? I hung in there :-) and once God got me past the first couple of rows it started to make sense. The second one is to make sure I can do it again.....About the tatting, a long time ago now, a local woman came to my home and gave a group of us tatting lessons. I learned alot from her. she taught us needle tatting and shuttle tatting. I only do shuttle tatting, and I did visit Gillian's tatting page and was amazed at the info. I'll be benefiting from that and happy to have the help. I don't know what finger tatting is, I'll have to look that up, it sounds like fun. Thankyou Eva for your help and encouragement, you helped me get my dishcloth finished for sure :-). Thanks for going to see my stuff !!! your comments made my day !

Hi Maggie Ann and Eva,

Thank you both of you for your very kind words!

Maggie Ann, finger tatting you just use the thread end to form the stitches as if you're working with a shuttle, but don't tie it to a shuttle or thread it on a needle. It's very easy but slow to do and in some circumstances (such as several rows of ring only tatting climbing from one row to the next with a split ring) it's better just to tie that loose thread onto a shuttle and work as normal. You should give it a try though, it's quite fun to do:-)

Your doily is absolutely beautiful, you can be proud of your work!
