Greetings, I'm new to this board and to Feng Shui. I found it (FS) through a personal organizer that I hired to help me clear the clutter. I'm so happy, I love Feng Shui! But my house is an odd shape so I'm not sure how to place the bagua. I know the bagua is like silly putty but I'm still stumped. Anyone with a courtyard sort of arrangement where the door is recessed?
Thanks!

Hi Mary Beth <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
First of all I'm glad you are getting into Feng Shui...it really has merit! As for how to apply the Bagua, if you have a copy of your floor plan to your home, place it over the entire floorplan OR you can do rooms individually, always with the door to the home or room on the bottom plane.
I'm not sure I'm understanding how you have the 'courtyard' with the recessed door....I don't think I'm picturing it how you are intending me to (lol)....can you describe a little more?

Hi Steph, I've just written an article called Feng Shui - The Nine Celestial Cures These nine Cures are great ways to help cultivate chi, or life energy. Also, I've written a review of a book called Feng Shui in 5 Minutes. It can be found here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art14782.asp There are some practical tips in that reveiw, as well. I hope this helps!

Hi, I'm the new editor for Feng Shui, and what you're describing with a mirror is a little mixed with ghost folklore. Some folklore claims that you can use a mirror to "scare away" ghosts or evil spirits. But, no, a mirror won't make anyone disappear. I don't know if this is good news or bad! If that doesn't answer your question, let me know. Thanks!

Hi Steph, Let me know what you want to use Feng Shui for, and I'll include that in upcoming articles, or in our newsletter. If you're interested in using Feng Shui in general--not for anything in particular--there are already a few new articles at our site. But, if you are hoping to get better grades, or get asked out, or if you're applying Feng Shui to your bedroom and have questions, be sure to ask. I'll help as much as I can. I'm the new editor for the Feng Shui topic, and I'm eager to find out what people are interested in learning.

Hi, I'm the new editor at BellaOnline for the topic of Feng Shui, and I'm eager to help as much as I can. First of all, is the courtyard door the one that you usually use to enter your home? If you're using Black Hat Sect feng shui, that's the wall (or corner) where the bagua should be placed. Whether or not the door is recessed doesn't affect the bagua. Even if your door is deeply recessed inside the house to that middle row of colors, the bottom (Knowledge, Career, and Helpful People) goes along the wall you "pass through" to enter the home.
Does this help? If not, or if you need more advice, please ask. Thanks for reading!
