Sarah,

thanks for posting this!

Poles always treated the USA as a friend - they feel that they were betrayed by Western Europe during WW II and of course they are very wary of Russia, so for them the USA was a country that symbolized freedom.

We were betrayed by Western Europe and the U.S., but things change. When I went to visit Istanbul with my dad in '03 (he lived there when he took a "trip" from Poland in the early 80s and claimed political asylum there and lived in a refugee camp for a few years), we were surprised when at the airport there was a nice $100 visa per American and no visas for Poles. I wish I had a Polish passport at that point... Alot of people have the senitment that Poland will really have no say in the EU and will just get the table scraps of France and Germany.

Hussar,

you just wanted to show that Poles were betrayed by Western Europe three times just like Jesus was betrayed by Peter.

Comptuers are wonderful machines, as long as you are willing to take twice as long on the project

Anyway, those articles are interesting, I knew that most European and Islamic countryies dislikes many of the United States' policies, but to have the percentages so high was suprising. I, myself, did NOT vote for Bush, nor did I support the war on Iraq and on Terrorism, but now that the troops are already there, the only thing most americans do, is support them, and not the policies.

I am hesitant to say that I am glad that the tsunami has taken some of the media attention away from the war, however now many of the supplies (food, clothing) that was going to the troops is now being put to use for the victims of the storm, I feel for the troops as they are not getting those supplies now.

Jaga, Hussar, LunarFrost, et al. I care what Poland may think of America but, the rest of the world can pack it where the Sun Doesn't Shine. Yesterday I heard a report that some members of the EU are trying to blackmail countries in South east Asia. This has to do with that flying Elephant that was built in Europe. The gest is "countries in SE Asia" must buy a certain number of those new airplanes or no aid and an embargo would be put in place. Now I don't know if the accusations are accurate or not but bribary and blackmail are routine to some members of that EU.
