Today The Germans at Bundestag in Berlin condemned Auschwitz. They confirmed that in Auschwitz the nazi germans killed people from severals country. They did nt mentioned nothing about The Poles.
I remember my childhood when at school the teacher invited the women who were in Auschwitz. This poor women told us horrifying
experience. Lot of people in Poland from concentration s camps lived beetwen us.
In communisme time nobody worried them. They lived with their horrifying experiance themself.
After 60 years the world noticed the Auschwitz problem . Better late than never.

thanks for the update about Auchwitz. I think, the world became aware of Auchwitz probably 15-20 years after this happen. The Holocaust is the big issue here in the USA but the Americans think sometimes that only Jewish people were persecuted.

One of my friend's grandmother's lived through that time. She alone was able to get out of Poland before she was sent to the concentration camps. One of her stories includes a chicken her family kept alive with table scraps. It basically kept tham all alive because they would take turns eating the one egg it would lay each day. The nutrition sustained them until more food could be obtained.
The unfortunate thing is that out of her extended family, about 15 in all, she and one distant cousin got out. The rest were sent and died at the camps.
She was kind enough to speak with several classrooms of 7th grade children, and I will never forget her tale.
