Puleeup is obviously a paranoid schizophrenic--overly suspicious & hallucinatory. Puleeup wants attention because he/she didn't get enough from his/her parents. I urge Puleeup to get psychiatric help immediately to treat this life threatening condition.

Thanks for the welcome back. Bob. Las Vegas is quite a hospitable town, and it does not seem to be artificial or forced hospitality. I have to wonder about the possibilities of tsunami warnings, like the terrorist system in the US, there cannot be closure on all of the possibilities. Human tragedy is with us forever. I can think of better and worse ways to see the end of my world (I don'tbelieve the full end of the world will come in my lifetime, though it would be interesting to see it play out).
Carl, the fellow in his writeup of Israli help weakens it to the point of it appearing like probaganda. A simple presentation of facts without drama added would be far more convincing to me. In the end the world and all its wealth and might is not capable of an 'adequate' response. So believe I.

Kai, agreed! However, I haven't found any journalism that is propaganda-free; e.g., CNN, Fox & Al Jazeera. One reason is the author may think that without propaganda, the journalism may appear dry & unappealing, and the client won't buy it. While working as a writer in an Advertising/PR agency, a client once said this about another writer: "Mr. X is truthful, but boring." Carl

Dear "sciwriter" - you are abusive and patriarchal....you have verbally abused me online and continue to abuse others as well as me...how do you believe you have any credibility given your lousy history? You are an abusive male, period!

Carl. Like I said, that guy puleeup is like a slug, he comes out at night in the wee hours. The next we hear from this clown will be more bluster and puffery. When that doesn't work he resorts to using phrases from the Wacko's Thesaurus :when this fails to work he starts to use vulgarity. This is a person who firmally believes that South East Asia means Chinatown in New York. You can tell that this person has no education when he has to use vulgarity as part of his vocabulary and does not understand the meaning of the cliches he uses. Ignore him and he'll go home wagging his tail behind him.

Bob,
You are welcome. I believe that you are right on puleeup. Everything is fine in Holland, except from some thugs throwing some firework in the morning so that I wake up early, after returning home this morning 5 'o clock from a dancing party which I enjoyed very much. The Duch, German and other nationalities in the party in the Arnhem concert hall were a very nice cosmopolitan mix. Nice girls from the Dance school, theatre, art, Fashion and design departments and Young Urban Professionals. Yesterday evening a party at a house of a (woman) friend of mine and here guy, with six other people. Two differant groups. She has an art background and invited her art friends, and he has ICT, scientific and workingclass friends. Although the two groups did'nt mix (other intrests) there was a tolerant and relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice and pleasant evening with and the firework was magnificent. The only thing is that at 12 'o clock all phones were disconnected. I could not reach anyone with my mobile phone. Luckily I phoned some people a half hour earlier. Nice to hear about your progression in photography. I use photoshop 7. In that I use Image>Adjustments> and under that Levels and Curves. And under Filter I use Sharpen>Unsharp Mask, and in unsharp mask I mostly put the amount on 300% and the Radius on 3, and the threshold sometimes on a low rate to make it not to sharp. Besides that I use the selection tools often, removing scratches and dust from my slides costs the most amount of time. The Histogram is a good instrument to see what steps you made and being able to correct previous steps. With color levels you have to be careful, use it moderately. Yes old film or film with errors can now be made to look new and better, without the redish vale over those old seventees and sixtees images. I like the old masters too and what the combination of the old and the new.
Have a nice New Years day.
Pieter

Pieter I too am glad that you had a good New Years Eve. It sounds like the party was very nice and you enjoyed yourself. That is what is important. My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at one of the local Steak Houses and then settled in for a quiet evening. We watched the celebrations from Spain on our Spanish TV channel (TVE) and it was a very good show. There were a lot of celebrations here in the States but Guy Lombardo and the Royal Canadians were not in any of them and since he died New Years Eve is not the same. I can remember a time when we would dance the night away with some very good music. I think the younger generation will say the same thing when Dick Clark is gone.. My wife and I had our 12 grapes at midnight so I hope that we will have good luck throughout the year. Perhaps our luck has changed a bit because I have seen no posts from the slug.
