This is a great Idea that Nancy has..There are some among you that would like to learn polish.. So why not here? Jaga can help when she gets back..I can help, although my Polish is street talk, I get along fine.. I might mispell some words in Polish, but thats no big deal. I also mispell words in english. Here goes.. Another toast.
Niech mu zycie lepszym bedzie, niz sledziowa zupa Niech mu nigdy nie odmowi, zadna zdrowa dupa
This is tough.
Let his life be a lot better, like herring soup?????? Do not ever say anything bad about him, especially no smart A --.. ( DUPA )
Lol, like i said.. I did not write these toasts
Ask questions Nancy

Frank,
My father used to say to me "If you don't have it in the head, you have to have it in the feet." He would say it in Polish, but then translate so I would be sure to get the message! Do you know the Polish?

Hey guys... wait for me to get on the school bus too! Great idea Frank ... some translating of common day usage here would be great. (Jaga did mention doing something like this.)
Frank...how do you get the Polish grammar accents for s, l, c, or e???
I think I asked Raytan about his motto some time ago, but forgot what he said it meant.

Nancy,,Dee I admire what you girls are trying to do..I will mention this to Basia, I know that she would be interested.. She too is like me.. She remembers Polish the way that we were taught many, many years ago.I remember asking my Father about a Polish word that I did not recognize.. He replied that he never heard of it. We have to remember, that our Grand Parents had a little or no education at all..When they came to America, in order to blend in, a lot of words were Americanized. This is why I call it street talk.. I would be in big trouble in Poland today.. They talk soooo fast. I do not feel qualified to teach you guy's Polish, but Jaga and others in here are.. Especially the younger members that are familiar with modern day polish. Dee, that is the next obstacle.. Polish Grammer.. For some reason I U O A E stand out in my mind..IN English A is prononced AYE ,in Polish it comes out as AHH E in english sounds like eeeeee in Polish it comes out ehh.. So as you can see, this will take some one a lot smarter than I to teach... JAGA! You guy's are on to something great, do not allow it to get away.. You guy's should try to speak a little Polish in here.. Even if it comes out wrong.. Some one will correct you.. Ask questions, We are never to old to learn Frank

Maybe someday he will notice this thread... I can type the Polish characters on my keyboard (I think I had to install something from Windows) but they usually do not come through correctly in emails. I liked your article about Christmas...the church looked really magnificent! Here is my Polish for the day: for Dee: Sto lat!
