A distant cousin of mine works at Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport, I hope these reductions don't threaten his job.

All airlines in all counties are undergoing restructering. I think a lot of this has to do with profit and fuel costs, When the shakeup is done <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I hope there will be an advantage to travelers.

And meanwhile, Russian Aeroflot airlines continues to post record profits! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

you are right that almost all airlines have troubles... except the Russian ones.
I am not sure that Russia let competition to work on their territory

There are a LOT of airlines in Russia, but most of them are so small that they have no impact on the market.

It is very interesting that Russia is practically the only country in the world that has NOT suffered major financial problems in the airline industry since the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.

Every year since 2001, Aeroflot especially has had tremendous financial success, whereas almost every other major airline in the world, especially in the U.S., has been failing.
