Bob,

I have Polish friends here who came from Oklahoma. For them Oklahoma was hundreds times better than Idaho but for me Idaho is much better than Maryland
I was in Oklahoma twice, it is nice there but for me it was a bit monotonous, maybe I did not see the mountains you talk about

Jaga. the mountains in Oklahoma are called the Wichita Mountains in th SW part of Oklahoma. They don't seem that big until you start tying to scramble around or climb them. Many historic sites and parks with lakes but I bet it would be fun scrambling around those mountains in Idaho.

HI Jaga
My husband would love to live where you do. It is really beautiful. Me I'm a city girl originally from Philadelphia and New Jersey was far enough for me.

Your daughter is so sweet. I do hope you are teaching about Polish Customs and Traditions and also to speak the language.

Beautiful photos, Jaga! Thanks for sharing. Yes, the west is beautiful in a way people from the east sometimes have a hard time understanding. I get the opposite effect, where going into the countryside in the east is like going into an Ohio suburb.

I have known people to leave Alaska and go to Idaho to get into the wilderness... I am also one of those people who is not aware of the beautiful parts of Oklahoma, as I have always driven past. During the pipeline days Alaskans had a bumpersticker "Happiness is 10,000 Texans going home - with an Okie under each arm!"

Bob, Basia, Kai,

thank you a lot! Yes, it seems I was unaware of the Oklahoma mountains. I was in Tulsa and Oklahoma but never in Oklahoma wilderness!
Kai, Alaska also has beautiful mountains, but they all have glaciers and snow all teh time right? probably this is just a stereotype.

Basia,

I am a city girl. In Poland I used to live in the third largest city and the old capital of Poland - Krakow. I loved strolling on the streets of this town. You can see lovely pictures of the market square - they are updated every 20 minutes or so, but please, wait until the daytime:

but I cannot get used to the American big cities - at least Washington DC was not like a place I would like to live my all life

That is a beautiful picture of Krakow. I notice all the outdoor cafe's and bars where one can enjoy a cool one or hot one and maybe a sweet to accompany the drink. I can also visualize friends meeting with friends and enjoying that drink together while discussing events of the day. Thanks Jaga.
