Karol, many Americans wanted to stay out of WW2. Thank God they didn't because if they did, Hitler would have won. Today, what do you think the terrorists would do to Europe if it withdraws? Carl

Dear Karol,
Spain it would seem has a problem in several directions. For one, they seem to have the age old problem of dealing with the Basque and now, for their joining with the British and Americans in the invasion of Iraq.
I have heard now that Britain is gearing up for protection against such an attack withen their country.
It would seem this extremist are promoting war against the civilized known world with thier tactics.
Karl

i dont buy the Hitler/Hussein comparison...not for one instant...Iraq has never in its history been a threat to the US security...Bush invasion of Iraq has created more terror and has no relation to 9/11 or to their liberation for that matter. his tactics are baseless and dumb luck and further more, the terrorists have already won in america.
they think they are right as long as they dont admit their wrong.

Ryan: It is claimed that Saddam would have had a nuclear bomb in 3 years. I disagree that terrorists won in America. USA didn't lose when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. America has a Space exploration program & the terrorists don't. Wait & see what happens when new weapons resulting from this program are used. Carl

[/qb] No, because Spain is not super-power. Only super-powers like the USA and Russia are entitled of attacking other countries for their own safety.

Jaga, et al. It should be remembered that those ancient Gauls and Germanic tribes did not great those fun-loving Romans in a very nice way. after all, those Romans only wanted to give lessons on arcitecture and how to build roads but I guess those Gauls and Germans thought the Romans would corrupt their culinary skills with the introduction of Pasta. Then there were those party going Mongolians and all they only wanted to do was introduce or start a little horse trading concession. Eastern Europe was sure in the wrong for greeting them the way they did; imagine, all the head bashing that greeted these people. I guess we can also recall that Herr Schicklgruber only wanted to introduce tourism to the whole world; what a boost for France, German tourists. It is a shame that some people decided to use BRUTE FORCE to discourge this type of tourism. Roman Law had a phrase "Que Bene?". In the case of Iraq it might be said that some officials in France, Germany and the UN were getting paid B bribes and kickbacks from the Sad Man "Saddam" and his cohorts. Remember that "oil for aid" deal? It seems that the countries who are protesting so much may have been recepients of this largesse. Perhaps i might protest if my source of funds were cut short. Perhaps there may be a smidgen of corruption in Poland's politics but I see no payoffs there. Yes, brute force does work on dictators and their cohorts; it gets there attention. If i remember flowers, kisses and candy were thrown at Herr Shicklgruber but that had no influence on him.

granted Carl, that still does not correlate Hussein/Hitler...and that is still mostly speculation that has been proved wrong post-invasion.

Jaga, as Spains allies, we would be obligated to support Spain on its effort to eradicate terror to its nation...just a bad example of a bad situation.
