I read that today is Kazimierz Pulaski Day in Illinois. Is it observed in other states as well? I also wonder how many Americans (of non-Polish origins) have heard about such American heroes as Pulaski and Kosciuszko.

As a tribute to Poland and Pulaski, the U. S. Army (cavalry) uses the colors of Poland on their pennants.
