I just literally quit my job about ten minutes ago. I won't starve or go homeless or anything like that. But, I am annoyed. Have you ever dealt with a shady boss, or a slippery H.R. person who will tell you one thing, and then pull a fast one to get their own way? For example, you'll agree to a certain schedule, but then they turn around and change it, and they LIE and say that this is what you agreed to. I HATE being lied to like that. How aggravating! That is no way to do business, and I'm ashamed to say these were women who did this. It was manipulative, deceitful, and all of those things men accuse women of being. I hope I am never that weak that I resort to blatant b.s. to get what I want. Oy, where's my therapist when I need her??

It is really a sad state of affairs when an HR person behaves that way. I am in sort of the same situation. I WISH I could quit but alas, the budget says no. Good for you for sticking up for what you believe in. I wish you the best.

Thanks Ann. I am grateful that I am in a position to do so. It was their loss, big time, and they know it. My manager really was sad to see me go, because she knows I have seniority, I work very hard without ever being asked.I hate being lied to, and I hate pettiness. Their loss. I wish you luck with your situation at work. But, it sounds like you have much much more important things to think about. Two of them! That must help put things inperspective;)

I say, sue the *[censored]* out of them. my manager really was sad to see me go, because she knows I have seniority, I work very hard without ever being asked Don't mistake that for personal affection, she is only sad because you can't be *used* anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear you got stuck in that position! I'm afraid that bad people come in both the male and female varieties <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But luckily they usually get to be known as untrustworthy and hit a point where nobody trusts them any more. And the word of their deceitful nature tends to spread quickly in the industry.
I like to get everything in writing as much as I can, so I can hand the proof that they lied to the person's superior and at least make them have to deal with it. But it's not always possible!

LOL, before the recession I would "quit" in a heart beat - but now with the recession still with us, no way. They have to put me out = do not want to get my possible unemployment benefit denied. Have you quit? Why? Were you able to get another job? Thanks for sharing with us I just literally quit my job about ten minutes ago. I won't starve or go homeless or anything like that. But, I am annoyed. Have you ever dealt with a shady boss, or a slippery H.R. person who will tell you one thing, and then pull a fast one to get their own way? Yes, it is so easy to quit, but don't. I hear folks every day that still have jobs complaining and threatening to quit. I use to be one so I won't judge them, but believe me, I won't be quitting my NEXT job(lol). Nothing like not having one to APPRECIATE having one :)

Welcome unemployed - I see you are NEW Yes, I could tell you stories about my "walking off" jobs when I was in my 20's. Left many a good job over stupid stuff. Now it is biting me in the you know what as employers now have the luxury of questioning "job hopping"(lol).
