One week ago I made huge mistake. I went to the unprofessional hairstylist. Actually, my friend gave me recommendation. As I have 5 months old baby, the visit to the salon is almost impossible. So, my friend recommend me somebody, who's working at home. I was told that I can bring my baby with me. It was a miracle.
My natural color is dark blond and last 5 years I had the highlights. I was bored with it and wanted to change my style. So, I asked this woman to change my color to brown... She changed me to red. in "red" I mean red like street-lights' red. During the last week I tried to re-color my hair to brown twice. I bought "L-Oreal" brown tones and colored last wednesday and yesterday. The result - I have dark red color. How I can change it to brown without red tone ? I hate red !

Sorry for long post.

Yikes! I hate it when I hear of these things happening.
The safest thing I can recommend is to find a color pigmented shampoo in an ash blonde color or light ash brown or dark ash brown if you don't mind dark and want to be sure to drab out the red. Most likely, you will have to use it until the color grows out or you can afford to have a proffessional fix it.

You can also try a semi-permanent hair color in an ash shade.

Stay away from permanent color as the developer may bring out more red.

Thank you, Lyanne !
I'll try the shampoo. What I did last week - colored to permanent color - now I understand why I "so red" now. My problem is not "afford" the professional - I have great hairstylist in Toronto, but I have no possibility visit him in the next year, for sure. As I wrote earlier, I have 5 months old baby, my husband works late, in my city I have no friends or relatives. And I don't have trusted babysitter either.

My next question is: Is it save to use semi-permanent color after two permanent colors during one week?

Thank you again.

Hi Tanya,
Yes it is safe, however you should use a conditioning treatment first, or at least a good daily conditioner. Then dry your hair and apply the semi-permanent color.

Your baby should be welcome in most salons, especially during the day, midweek when they are not incredibly busy. Most babies at 5 months will still sit in their carrier long enough to get your hair done.
