I buy shampoo based on what it does, BUT it has to smell good, too. I use clarifying shapoos exclusively now to get out all the product.
When it comes to other products, I admit to being drawn by presentation, then smell, and then what it does. Still, a pretty bottle and great smelling product isn't enough for me if it doesn't do the job.
For example, I bought Bed Head's Uptight. It's a heat activated curl maker. I was going straight for awhile, but decided I missed my curl. Because I didn't really need it and it didn't seem to do anything, I returned it. However, the bottle is funky, and the smell is heavenly.
So, it's really all about a product doing the job I want it to...but it must smell good in the process. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
