Does anyone have any budget honeymoon travel ideas that they could share?

Alot of people have gotten married but haven't gone on their honeymoon because of the expense they think they will not be able to afford. What are some ways that people can save and actually be able to getaway for a honeymoon vacation?

Could i suggest ahoney moon trip through the river nile in Egypt
the husband and the groom will ride a cruise that will surf through the NILE RIVER visiting ASWAN , LUXOR for 6nights/7days where they can see most of the egyptian civilized culture full board with alot of entertainment visiting the most best places in all over the world which like mothe than 4000 years old.
and it's cheap more than you can imagine.

that's a good question. A good thing to do is to see if any co-workers or relatives have time shares anywhere. They might let you buy a week from them if they aren't planning to use it. And you can get some in pretty cool places. I'm going to Cancun in August and am staying in a co-workers time share.

Other ideas are renting a vacation home from a friend or relative. And some newspapers have adds for apartments, etc that are for rent in exotic places. Sometimes the prices are lower.

Perhaps you could use frequent flier miles to go far away, someplace that would help pay the way there and then the prices would be better. I know overall costs in South East Asia and South America are lower than in Europe and the US. The most expensive part sometimes is the travel.

A couple could ask for money towards a plane ticket/vacation instead of something from their registry I suppose.

Other ideas are going some place different, but still close by...maybe some place on the West Coast, Mexico or Florida...just some ideas!

The honeymoon registry is a great idea, and some travel agents offer this option. I use www.vrbo.com to book cabins or condos. You deal directly with the owners and usually can get decent deals. Also, if planning a last minute honeymoon, www.site59.com is a last minute booking site that offers packages as low as $200 per person, including airfare.

Also, if you're planning to have a honeymoon in the US you should check out the rates on flyi. They're having some good sales and frequent flier mile promotions...I'm going to see if I can plan a getaway <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
